A Budget-Friendly Travel 📌
Last May 27, 2022 my friends and I decided to visit the National Museum of the Philippines in Metro Manila after seeing a post about the attraction from Facebook which gone viral. The Facebook post inspires us to travel to the National Museum of the Philippines. We also realize that visiting the National Museum is less expensive than traveling outside of Metro Manila.
Traveling to National Museum is relatively affordable because the admission is free for all Filipinos who want to learn about the history of the Philippines. Just remember to present your valid ids at the front desk. Since it was our first time visiting the National Museum, we decided to commute rather than take a taxi or Grab so that our travel will be more memorable and fun for us.
We took a jeep from Buting Intersection to Guadalupe and the fare was 9 pesos per person. After we get off the jeep we walk inside the Guadalupe Mall because the train station was located inside the Mall.
We didn't pay a fare to ride the MRT-3 train because, according to the DOTr, it's free until June 30. We take the MRT-3 from Guadalupe station to Taft Avenue, then transfer to LRT-1 going to United Nations Avenue which cost 20 pesos per person.
After a few minutes of travel, we arrived at our final stop which is the United Nation Avenue. The National Museum is a few minutes walk from United Nation Avenue.
Finally, we made it to the National Museum of fine arts and even from a distance, the Museum's architecture design is very impressive and detailed.
Before entering the Museum, we were asked to present our Vaccine Card and Valid Ids but if one of your group of friends has one valid ids it would do. We're also reminded of the few things we're not permitted to do inside the Museum.
DONT'S INSIDE THE MUSEUM: 🚫
- Don’t eat or drink inside
- Don’t touch the museum objects
- Don’t use flash photography
- Don’t engage in horseplay
- Don’t be loud
- Don’t litter
- Don’t take any videos inside the museum
After all of the reminders, we finally made it inside, where we have been greeted by this magnificent statue. The statue is even more breathtaking in person, so don't leave the National Museum of Fine Arts without seeing and photographing this statue on the first floor. When you enter the museum, you'll notice the neoclassical ceiling and architecture design.
Behind this statue you will witness landscape paintings which includes the famous "Spoliarium" painting by the famous Filipino painter Juan Luna.
Our visit will be incomplete if we do not take photographs to post on our social media accounts.
