This municipality of Sto.Domingo Albay is the town where I grew up, and the locals here are known as "Dominggenous." The people in this town are nice and very hospitable because they always warmly welcome all visitors who come to town and make them feel comfortable. Despite its small size, Santo Domingo will not fail to impress you with its scenery because there are many attractions to visit here, and it is also well-known for its colorful and festive Sarung Banggi festival that is held during every 2nd week of May .

The town of Sto.Dominggo is the birthplace of "Sarung Banggi," a traditional Bicol love song written in 1910 by an illustrious son of Libog Potenciano Gregorio which is why the Sarung Banggi festival is celebrated to commemorate the birth of the composer and when the month of May approaches the town and its local started to become busy to prepare for this special event called Sarung Banggi festival.

This yearly Parade of the Strobing Lights, whereby each barangay exhibits an outstanding rendition of the song Sarung Banggi, which became the highlight of the Festival.  This is done after evening, contingents parade their dazzling cultural performances as well as their Spanish-era costumes downtown. Visitors come to Sto. Domingo to just witness this once-in-a-lifetime occasion. And as someone who experience to witness this coolest festival I have ever watched every month of May I could say that if you will visit here make sure to never miss to attend this beautiful festival in the town. The locals make an exteremely effort to prepare their dance and as well in creating their beautiful unique costumes just to show the beauty of the Sto. Domingo Albay because for them this festival is an opportunity to promote our very own festivals and it is not always the price they will win after the festival but it is also about becoming the pride of Sto.Dominggo and having the opportunity to showcase our own talents in dancing and our creativity.
